My Top 3 Drugstore Makeup Products!

Hello everyone!

I know I’ve been a little MIA with these types of posts, but I AM BACK! I’ve been wanting to post something like this for a while now, and over the past couple of months I’ve been trying out a few drugstore makeup products, and I’ve come up with my list of my top favorites. I think I might make this a series of posts as I keep trying new products, but I’m still contemplating that one! But anyway, here are my top three drug store products that I’ve been loving these past couple of weeks!

  1. My number one favorite comes as no surprise because I’ve been using this eyeshadow palette in almost every makeup look I’ve posted on this blog, and also whenever I go out. It’s the Forever 21 Love & Beauty Matte Eye Shadow Palette! Yes, I had the same reaction as you’re having right now: “What? Forever 21 makeup?!” Yes, this eyeshadow palette from Forever 21 is actually worth the money! I paid $8.90 and you get 25 colors ranging from warm browns to cool purples and a few other random colors. It’s a little powdery, but the pigment is absolutely amazing if you build it up. Especially with darker skin tones such as mine, the colors really pop. If you spray your brushes with a setting spray, it’ll turn out even better! Here’s the catch, guys, I went on to the Forever 21 website and I could not find the palette anywhere! However, I went into their store a few days ago, and they had a couple. I highly encourage anyone to pick this up if you’re at the store and they have a few on display! Here are a few of the looks I’ve created with the palette that are already on the blog:

  2. My next faves are the Wet N Wild lipsticks! Let’s just take a moment to appreciate how far this brand has come! They’ve really stepped up their game with the new makeup brushes, lipstick ranges, and other lines in this brand! I have a few lipstick ranges from this brand that I’ve been loving, and my two absolute favorites are there new semi-matte collection, and the Fergie lipsticks. The semi-matte colors I’ve tried do not dry out your lips, and it has a hint of moisturizing agent in it! They are the perfect combination of matte and shine, I think. My favorite colors are Cherry Bomb, Red Velvet, and from the Fergie line, Fashion Darling. Red Velvet is a pink-red color that takes makes your makeup look absolutely fierce. I’ve been going quite simple on the eyes and packing on color on the lips, and I’ve noticed that I always reach for this red when it matches my outfit. Cherry Bomb is a purple berry color that I’ve been loving as well! Recently I’ve felt being a little bold and wearing darker colors, and this has been my top berry colored lipstick! I feel as if this is the perfect shade of dark berry if you’re just getting into trying a darker lip.  Finally, Fashion Darling is a pink-nude color. It’s a little too pink for my skin tone to be genuinely nude, but I wear it when I want a soft pop of color. Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Drugstore Makeup Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild Best Drugstore makeup - Wet N Wild
  3. My last favorite is a powder-to-cream foundation from Milani Cosmetics. This is my very first time trying Milani, and I’ve pretty happy about my purchase. I didn’t buy this with the intention of using it as a foundation, but rather for cream contouring (hence why the color is darker than my skin tone!). I purchased this in 03 Caramel Brown and it has been a great alternative to cream contouring products that actually advertise for that purpose. To be honest, this color is a little too warm for my skin tone, but it’s not too noticeable! It’s so easy to blend, and a little goes a long way with this one! It gives a soft contour look without any harsh lines, and I love it!  My friend recommended this product as cream contour if you’re just beginning to explore the wonders of contouring (and that’s me)! Be quite careful when picking out your color because you have to go a few shades darker than your own color. I purchased mine at Walgreens because they have a 30-day return policy if things go downhill with your choice! Also, I just feel like putting this out as a disclaimer, contouring is a really new aspect of makeup for me, so let’s keep the judging to a minimum, shall we?
